Previous experience of catering for a minimum of 25 covers (dependant on size of home)
Basic food hygiene certificate
COSHH Training and understanding of HACCP
Menu planning and costing skills
Real team player

Good organisational skills, prioritise workloads
Reliable and punctual

Vacancy Details

We are looking to recruit a part-time cook to work 1 day per week in Gillibrand Hall Nursing Care Home.

Please note – Working days will be Tuesday in week 1 and Sunday in week 2.

Working hours – 7.30am – 4.30pm

Salary: £10.50 per hour

Incentives: Free lunch provided, uniform provided, DBS paid by the company, free onsite car parking.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting Century Healthcare Ltd’s aim of delivering high standards to residents by providing nutritious, varied and well-balanced meals that are safely and hygienically prepared and served. Responsible for supervising the catering team along with managing and controlling the catering budget and ensuring all legally required paperwork is completed.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals to the Company menu which are appealing, nutritious and centres on residents’ preferences, requests or any special dietary requirements.
To be active and encouraging, provide advice and guidance for the team ensuring that the home is a friendly, supportive working environment.
Understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health & Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health, ensuring a safe environment within the home.
