Creating Careers: A Step Ahead Student Drop In Support Session

With your permission, we will be collecting data from you, including your post code, date of birth and gender. These details are collected for monitoring purposes, as a condition of our funding. We will:

• Use your personal data to measure the effectiveness of the work we do, including the impact our activities have on future education choices.


• Record your data on a secure database called HEAT, but this data will only be used for monitoring and evaluation and will not impact you individually in any way. The University of Liverpool, as lead institution for Shaping Futures, processes personal data as part of its research and teaching activities in accordance with the lawful basis of ‘public task’.


• Ensure your data is collected by a Shaping Futures member of staff and stored in secure, password protected files at the University of Liverpool and on HEAT, within the UK. The University of Liverpool will act as data controller. Data is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR, and will be held for 10 years. After 10 years, paper copies of your data will be destroyed and electronic files will be deleted.


• Anonymise your data if it is used in any research or reports, so it will not identify you personally. Your data will not be used in any future research. You have the right to refuse the share any data and to request your data is deleted at any point, without giving a reason.
