Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a highly motivated Assistant Practice Manager to join and lead our long established family practice in Penwortham, Preston for 35hrs per week.

We are in purpose built premises catering to a population of 4800 patients. We are part of Greater Preston Network Group PCN.

We are a progressive thinking practice and offer a supportive and friendly work atmosphere.

We are a high performing practice with consistently high patient satisfaction rates and QOF achievements . We use EMIS web and use Ardens templates following a successful trial

Previous experience working in General Practice is essential with managerial experience or have the experience and skills to step up to the challenge.

Main duties of the job
You will ideally have strong interpersonal skills with good leadership skills to help the practice adapt to all the latest innovations primary care is currently going through.

Your responsibilities will cover all aspects of the practice supporting the Practice manager including:

Improving systems & Processes as part of quality improvement initiatives.
Overseeing administrative elements of QOF, IIF and local contracts
Effectively communicating with staff, patients and 3rd parties.
Health & Safety audits & carrying out actions.
Investigating patient complaints/feedback/incidents and learning from these.
Escalating & delegating when appropriate.
Engaging with patients to improve services.
Minute taking of meetings.
Assisting the Practice manager and deputising in their absence.
Management of reception/admin staff including all HR procedures.
Booking locum staff or organising in house staff to cover holidays/sickness.
Overseeing Rota’s.
Completing reporting.
Adhering to CQC standards and all legislation.

Overview of your organisation
You will work with our team which comprises of 5 receptionists, data clerk, secretary, two practice nurse, Nurse Associate, medicines co-ordinator, clinical pharmacist, first contact physio, two sessional GP’s along with our Practice manager and a full time GP partner.

The Practice strives to make full use of the latest technology and the constant organisational changes that have characterised the NHS over the last few years. It has also tried to keep, as much as possible, its traditional approach to general practice. We seek to maintain continuity of care, with on-going relationships and, as far as possible, easy accessibility between patients and clinical staff.
