Desirable criteria: Care qualifications such as NVQ or care certificate, experience in care (personal or professional), Being a driver with access to own vehicle for work. Essential criteria: Compassionate and caring nature, excellent communication skills, ability to work to own initiative and as part of a team.
Vacancy Details
Main duties of the job include: Working out in the community in the clients own home delivering tailored care specific to the individuals needs. This care may include assisting with: Personal care (male & female), cooking, cleaning, shopping, assisting with medication, assisting with mobility in the form of moving and handling (use of hoist etc), assisting with toileting needs. Sometimes you will be working alone as a single carer and at other times (specifically where equipment is involved) you will be paired with another carer. All service users care packages are tailored to them specifically so each and every care call will be different however all training is provided and this is paid training. 20 hours of shadowing with a senior member of staff is also undertaken before anyone can be assessed as competent to work alone. We offer on site and field based training covering the required 15 care standards and Moving & Handling training at our office in Preston. All of our theory based training is done via Grey Matter Learning online.
