Creative Support is a national, fast growing not-for-profit organisation providing support to individuals with a wide range of care needs. We are currently looking to add a Female Support Worker to our team in Euxton, Chorley.

We are looking for calm, friendly and energetic individuals who are well motivated, hardworking and keen to join our friendly team in Euxton, Chorley. Our respite service can offer short term stays for people with a range of support needs, including learning disabilities, mental health needs and/or a physical disability. We have 5 rooms that are available for use each day and we support a varied client range with many service users accessing the service at different times, much like a hotel. We like to offer our users excellent quality accommodation and facilities and enthusiastic team of support workers to help make their short stays an enjoyable and memorable one!

Support Worker Duties:

• Administering medication
• Be willing to actively embrace all aspects of the role including support with personal care and domestic tasks as well as community activities such as walking, swimming and going to the gym. Moving and handling
• Demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the variety of people that we support
• Follow agreed guidelines and to work positively within a consistent, mutually supportive team ethos

Being a car driver is preferred, but not essential for this role. The service has the benefits of being situated in a friendly residential area with easy access to commute to the centre of Preston. It is easily accessible by car and bus routes and is a stone throw away from Euxton train station.

The respite service offers support staff an enjoyable role as every day is different. The ability to support people who can express their needs though challenging behaviour at times is essential. Prior experience in this field of work is beneficial, although not a substitute for an engaging, creative and person centred approach. We will value the personal skills and interests you bring to the role and to the lives of service users, such as sports, walking and outdoor pursuits, creative arts, music and cooking; to name but a few!

You will be required to work in a flexible manner on a rota which includes evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
