Head Housekeeper
Ashton Manor Care Home, Lancaster
£23,587.20 / £12.60 per hour – 36 hours per week

Are you passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness within a luxury care setting? Evermore Care is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Head Housekeeper to join our state-of-the-art care home, Ashton Manor, in Lancaster.

About the Role:

As the Head Housekeeper, you will manage, inspire, and supervise the housekeeping team, ensuring that our residents’ living spaces are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. You’ll manage the day-to-day cleaning schedules, oversee laundry services, and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, COSHH, and infection control procedures.

This is a 36-hour-per-week position on a 2-week rolling rota, including alternative weekend work. Shift times are flexible but ideally between 8 am and 5 pm, depending on the applicant.

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Main Responsibilities:

Maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Manage the housekeeping team, ensuring adherence to cleaning schedules and procedures.
Monitor and report any equipment issues or stock shortages.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and infection control regulations.
Coordinate with the maintenance team on any damages or repairs.
Regularly audit cleaning standards and staff performance.
Manage staff meetings and ensure completion of actions.

Experience and Qualifications:

Previous experience in management and housekeeping within a care or similar environment.
Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations, COSHH, and infection control.
Ability to manage and motivate a team.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
