About us
My Life is a highly respected charity and we are currently seeking Personal Assistants / Support Workers to join our growing team in Bury. My Life was established in 2012 as a result of a group of people with disabilities and their families wanting something different to traditional types of health/social care services and wanting more choice and control over their own lives. My Life currently provides care and support to a growing number of individuals who have complex health and social care needs across the North West of England. Our staff are integral to the success of the charity as they are the ones making a real difference to people’s lives.

Responsibilities
There is a Personal Assistant / Support Worker role available supporting a young man who lives in his own home. This young man will have 24/7 support, 2:1 during the day and 1:1 overnight. He has a learning disability, autism and challenging behaviour. He also has a good sense of humour, an interest in fishing, golf and gardening and he would like to access his local community so he can meet some friends. He will need support at home to ensure he maintains his health and house as appropriate. As part of the My Life team, you will ensure that care is provided in a way that respects the individual and promotes their independence.

What you’ll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will be kind-hearted and willing to make a positive difference to this young man’s life. You will have experience working as a Support Worker / Personal Assistant for individuals with Autism and Challenging Behaviour. You will be self-motivated, flexible and have the ability to use your own initiative whilst being caring and sensitive to the needs of others. Ideally, you will hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

The role is for days.

The salary on offer is up to £12.35 per hour (dependent upon experience) plus a competitive benefits package.
