We do require a reference from someone who is not a relative or friend, an Enhanced DBS or the willingness to purchase one (for only £12) which we would help you sort quick and easily.
Bay Volunteers is a community-based service which supports the needs of people and communities across the Lancaster District, especially those who are elderly, vulnerable, isolated and/or housebound. We work with many partners, including UK Government, Lancaster City Council, Lancaster District Community Hub, Lancaster District CVS, Lancaster, Bay and Carnforth Integrated Care Communities, Lancaster Medical Practice, Queen Square Surgery, Bay Medical Group, and many others to bring support to those in our community who need it.
As part of Bay Volunteers, volunteers can sign up and pick which missions they would like to do, when they do them and how much they want to volunteer. The missions that we receive, which our volunteers take up, mainly include either: shopping for/with someone, collecting and delivering post/parcels, collecting and delivering prescriptions, a listening call/in-person visit/walk, patient transport and/or digital support. It’s volunteering in your hands!
We hope to offer other types of mission in the future, as well as other non-urgent missions and one-off projects to benefit people and communities in the Lancaster District.
