Virtual Mental Health Career Insight 3 Day Programme

*YOU MUST BE 18 OR OVER TO ATTEND THIS PROGRAM*

Our 3 day program is aimed at those who have an interest in mental health as a career but might be unsure what kind of role they want to go in to, or, would like to know more about the area of mental health.

As part of the program we are offering the chance to speak with our very own mental health professionals, interact with individuals and family members who access our services, and delve into the expansive topic of mental health issues.

Due to the sensitive nature of the issues that will be discussed and the information you will hear, we do ask that anyone who considers attending this program must be prepared to listen to (what can sometimes be) distressing material.

After this program we would hope that you have gained a deeper insight into Mental Health issues, an enhanced awareness of the interactions you will experience with service users, and a greater understanding of what kind of roles are available to you.

FAQ's
  • How long are the sessions?

The sessions will all be between 30 to 40 minutes long and will have a 5 minute comfort break between each session

  • Will this program lead to employment?

Attending this program does not guarantee employment.

This program is designed to give you an insight into Mental Health from the viewpoint of those who work in the field currently/access our services. Having this exposure will allow you to have a greater understanding of the sector and showcase to potential employers/education providers that you have spent a number of hours experiencing/researching this.

  • What if I feel uncomfortable with what is being discussed?

Due to the nature of the topic, and with us providing interaction with Service Users who access our services, we do advise that anyone attending is fully prepared to hear conversations that will be (on occasion) of an uncomfortable/distressing nature.

We do ask that if at any point you feel uncomfortable or something becomes triggering for you, that you remove yourself from the session immediately and re-join the next one. We will provide you with an email address to contact if this happens so you can inform us.

You must take responsibility for your own comfort levels.

  • Do I need to attend all sessions to receive a certificate of attendance?

Yes, you will need to attend all sessions to be eligible for a formal certificate of attendance.

  • Will I be able to interact with the presenters/interviewees during the sessions?

Due to the volume of individuals attending we will be limiting the amount of vocal communication (from attendees) to specific times, these will be identified by the presenter at the beginning of the sessions. You will be able to ask questions in the chat function as and when you think of them during the session, and they will all be answered accordingly.
