Pharmacy support worker, Amy Bell knew she wanted to pursue a career in pharmacy, but lacked relevant experience and qualifications.
Amy said: “I saw an apprentice pharmacy support worker post advertised and decided this would be a great way to gain knowledge and experience, at the same time earning while on the job.”
Amy had a great experience of apprentice life and enjoyed her time in the role. “I was welcomed into the team and supported every step of the way by my colleagues and managers. I felt they were always happy to help and answer any queries I had and they offered guidance when necessary. I was also supported by tutors with college work and could contact them if needed.”
“After completing my apprenticeship I obtained the NVQ needed for an assistant role and I was kept on within the team I was working in as a pharmacy assistant.”
Amy hopes to train as a pharmacy technician with the aim of eventually becoming an accuracy checking pharmacy technician.
