NHS sector based work academy Mental Health Care Support Worker career opportunities at The Harbour with Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust.

 If you are unemployed and in receipt of benefits our 12-week training programme starting on Tuesday 1 March could help you fulfil your ambitions. You must be over 24 years (on 31/8/21) to apply.

 The course provides a range of level 1 accredited qualifications in mental health and includes a placement at The Harbour with an interview for a HCSW Apprentice post. This is not a guaranteed placement/interview and is dependent on your performance and commitment to the programme/ward placement. The interview would be for a full time HCSW apprenticeship position 37.5 hours which is shift work (days, nights, weekends, bank holidays).

The course is Tuesday – Thursday (3 days per week) from 10am – 2:30pm with an option to do maths/English each Monday to enhance career prospects working at the Mental Health Unit.

The course offers (for those in the Academy catchment area):

support with childcare

travel pass (if you live 1.5 miles from the academy)

bursary payment of up to £10 per week with a 90% attendance

funding to purchase an interview outfit

*Any candidates who wish to apply (but live outside of the Academy catchment area) and will need support with travel expenses to access this programme, must speak to their job coach before applying. Helen can advise if this would be the case when you make contact with her for more details*

 The placement will take place at The Harbour, Windmill Rise, Blackpool.

You will need to speak to your GP and request a copy of your immunisation report prior to starting the course and you must be Covid-19 double jabbed (and be able to evidence this)

The training will be classroom based and take place at the Health and Social Care Career Academy,1 Bickerstaffe Square, Bickerstaffe House, Talbot Road, Blackpool, FY1 3AH
